5th April 2019
let's make your cello agenda!
1
First of all, we will print the pages of our agenda. Print about 7 double-sided pages of the "page 1" file below and another 6 more pages of the "page 2" also below, as you can see in the image on the left (slide over the number 1 with the mouse). In fact, you can print as many pages as you want! Click on the boxes below to download the templates. We will fold every page on half.
Dutch version:
We will now make the sandwich with the pages one by one in this way: page 1-2-1-2-1..., as you can see in the image on the right (number 2). You will see that each week is separated by the heads "lesson notes" and "activities".

Here it comes the creative part! We have to choose a cardstock or scrapbooking paper that we like for the cover and another one (or the same color) for the pocket that the agenda will have inside. The one for the cover has to measure 31x21 cm, and the one for the pocket 24x8,5 cm. Look at the picture on the left to have an idea.
Now we will make the folds of every piece of paper we have just measured. The big one we will fold it in half so that it is equal to the inner pages we printed before. The small one we have to mark all the edges except one of the longest, at 1,5 cm, and make some cuts to create the tabs, as you can see in the photo. We will stick the pocket with the folded tabs to the inner right side of the cover so that we can store there the small sheets.

It's almost done! The next step is building everything and make two holes at the central fold of the agenda; one at the upper part and another at the bottom, as you can see in the photo on the left, using a punch. If your agenda is too thick to go into the punch, divide the pages in two and first make a signal with a pencil where you want your holes.
The final touch! We choose a ribbon that we like, we cut a piece of aprox. 50cm and we put it through the holes, making a strong knot so that nothing takes apart. We can leave the knot inside or outside, depending on how we like it better. In the photo I have left it inside, but it can also look beautiful leaving it outside in the spine. Now you can customize the cover and write many things inside!

How does it work?
This agenda is designed to be also your notebook, where you can have space to write down the things that we talk in the lesson and also to do the activities. For these two things, you have the heads "lesson notes" and "activities". In the activities pages, you will find a QR code. If you scan it, it will bring you here, to the head of my website "my notebook", where you can find all the articles with the activities that you can do.

As you will have probably seen, in the week pages you have blanks to fill in. The first one, the box that appears next to the word "week" is to put the number of the week we are in. If it's the first week of lessons, the second one, etc. And what are the spaces with the icons for?

This icon appears next to every day of the week. Inside you can write how many minutes have you practiced cello that day, this way you will see how much time do you spend with your beloved instrument. I always write it in my agenda!

This is my favourite one! It is the list that appears on the left side of the pages and it is for you to write down the things that you like and the things you want to improve when you watch a video of yourself playing the cello. If you remember, we have done it sometimes in our lessons, but you can also do it at home and it is a very good exercise.

Finally, these headphones appear at the upper part of the right-side pages. Every week during the lesson we will spin the composers' roulette and you will choose a piece of music by the composer that you like. After listening to it, you can make a drawing or write something that you felt inspired by.
In the blanks on each day, you can write down which songs have you played and also the cello games that you did as a warm-up. Do you remember the infinite note game? Or the one imitating the sounds of the animals? Those are very good games to warm up, that you know it is really important that we don't skip this step! Check regularly the head "my notebook" of the website and don't miss any cello games and work-out sheets that I will be uploading soon!
